Uttarakhand: In a tragic incident, six persons including two pilots were killed after a helicopter crashed near Kedarnath in Uttrakhand today. According to the sources, the helicopter carrying the four passengers from Guptkashi to Kedarnath crashed near Garu Chatti and six persons were killed in the accident. It is said that the helicopter crashed soon after takeoff from Kedarnath. Officials said that the incident took place due to the bad weather. Officials recovered the dead bodies.
Civil Aviation Minister Jyotiraditya Scindia expressed his grief after the incident and tweeted as “The helicopter crash in Kedarnath is extremely unfortunate. We are in touch with the State government to ascertain the magnitude of the loss, and are constantly monitoring the situation.”
