AP-Anantarapur: In a significant step toward poverty eradication, key initiatives are being implemented in the Guntakal constituency of Anantapur district. MLA Gummanur Jayaram participated in a meeting held at Shankarananda Degree College in Guntakal town under the chairmanship of RDO Srinivasulu, as part of the coalition government’s prestigious P4 program.
Speaking on the occasion, the MLA stated that there are 7,591 poor families in the constituency who struggle even for a single meal a day. Out of these, 2,368 families have already been adopted by 470 mentors who are extending their support. He appreciated their service and dedication.
He urged more people to voluntarily come forward to adopt the remaining 5,223 families. He also assured that he would personally support 50% of the people as part of his responsibility. He emphasized that the coalition government is committed to eradicating poverty by 2047.
The MLA explained that the P4 program aims to provide minimum living standards to every individual and completely eliminate issues like hunger, unemployment, and homelessness. He noted that poverty eradication is possible only through the combined efforts of the government, private sector, and the public.
During the event, outstanding mentors who have been actively serving society were felicitated. Among them were Gummanur Narayanaswamy (Guntakal Mandal In-charge), Gummanur Eshwar (Gooty & Pamidi Mandals In-charge), Shiva Prasad (Annapurna Hotel, Gooty), Makam Srikanth (Gooty), MK Chowdary (TDP Town President, Gooty), K. Srinivasulu (Government Hospital Development Committee Member, Gooty), Rajagopal (Sai Hospital, Gooty), and Patti Himabindu (Sai Krishna Hospital, Guntakal).
MLA Gummanur Jayaram reiterated that transforming poor families into “golden families” is their ultimate goal.
