Hyderabad Police on Alert for New Year; CP Sajjanar Warns of Strict Action

Hyderabad: With New Year celebrations approaching, the Hyderabad Police are stepping up preparations to ensure that people welcome the New Year in a peaceful and safe manner. City Police Commissioner Sajjannar has issued a strong warning that strict action will be taken against event organizers or members of the public who cross limits or violate rules during New Year events. “If rules are violated, the joy of the New Year will be lost,” he cautioned.

As part of the preparations, CP Sajjannar held a video conference with field-level police personnel to review safety arrangements and discuss guidelines to be followed for New Year parties and events across the city. He issued key instructions to ensure law and order and public safety. Event organizers have been directed to mandatorily install CCTV cameras at all venues where celebrations are held. He also emphasized that prior police permission must be obtained by applying online before organizing any party or event.

The Commissioner made it clear that sound systems and loudspeakers used at celebrations in public places must be completely switched off by 10 pm. He warned that any complaints related to noise pollution would be dealt with strictly.

Special emphasis is being placed on women’s safety during the festivities. The police announced that 15 She Teams will be deployed in plain clothes across the city to monitor situations and prevent harassment or untoward incidents.

CP Sajjannar further announced that a special drive against drunken driving will be conducted across Hyderabad on the night of December 31. Drunken driving checks will begin from 9 pm onwards, with checkpoints set up at all major roads and junctions. He warned that driving under the influence of alcohol would not be tolerated under any circumstances.

The Hyderabad Police have appealed to citizens to celebrate the New Year with joy and enthusiasm, while also respecting the law and behaving responsibly to ensure the safety and well-being of everyone.
