Palnadu District, Karampudi: Assistant Engineer (AE) Pedda Kota Mastan of the Electricity Department in Karampudi was caught red-handed by the Anti-Corruption Bureau (ACB) while accepting a bribe.
According to ACB officials, Sheikh Mastan Jani, who runs a shop under the name Wali Engineering in Karampudi, approached the AE for an electrical service connection and meter installation. The AE allegedly demanded a bribe for completing the work.
Troubled by the demand, the victim approached the ACB, following which officials laid a trap. During the operation, AE Pedda Kota Mastan was caught red-handed while accepting the bribe.
The trap operation was carried out under the supervision of ACB Additional SP Mahendra, with CIs Nagaraju, Subbarao, Manmadha Rao, Suresh Babu, and SI staff participating in the raid.
ACB officials stated that strict action will be taken as per law and urged citizens to report bribery cases immediately.
