Medak District / Toopran : The establishment of CCTV cameras in villages is acting as a major deterrent to anti-social activities, said Medak Superintendent of Police D.V. Srinivasulu. On Saturday, he inaugurated a new CCTV Command Control Room in Toopran, aimed at enhancing rural security and ensuring real-time monitoring of activities.
As part of the event, the SP also participated in a tree plantation drive. Speaking at the inauguration, he emphasized the crucial role of surveillance in modern policing. “Without CCTV cameras, crime control becomes difficult, and investigations face significant hurdles,” he noted, adding that “a single CCTV camera is as effective as deploying a hundred police officers.”
The SP also revealed that a special team comprising a Sub-Inspector and police staff has been formed to monitor and curb the sale and distribution of marijuana in the region. Addressing road safety concerns, he pointed out that many accidents occur due to vehicles traveling on the wrong side of the road. He warned that violators caught driving against traffic will face penalties.
The event was attended by Additional SP Mahender, DSP Narender Goud, CI of Ramayampet, CI and SI of Toopran, SI of Manorabad, and several other police personnel from the Toopran division.
The newly launched control room is expected to strengthen law enforcement capabilities and promote safer communities across the district.
