Kurupam : The third installment of funds under the Annadata Sukhibhava – PM Kisan scheme, introduced to strengthen the financial stability of farmers, was released in Parvathipuram Manyam district with much enthusiasm.
The program was organized by the Agriculture Department at the Mandal Parishad office premises in Kurupam constituency. Andhra Pradesh Government Whip and Kurupam MLA Toyaka Jagadeeshwari attended the event as the chief guest and officially released the funds.
Speaking on the occasion, the MLA explained the benefits being provided to farmers. A total of 39,084 farmers in the Kurupam constituency benefited from the third installment, with ₹22.71 crore distributed directly into farmers’ bank accounts. Each farmer received ₹6,000 in this installment.
She further stated that under the scheme, farmers receive ₹20,000 annually, which includes ₹6,000 from the central government under PM Kisan and ₹14,000 from the state government.
MLA Jagadeeshwari said that the prosperity of the nation depends on the well-being of farmers who feed the country. She criticized the previous government for neglecting farmer welfare and said the people demanded change.
She added that after the formation of the coalition government, several steps have been taken for farmers’ welfare, including depositing payments within 24 hours of paddy procurement, providing agricultural equipment at subsidized rates, and prioritizing irrigation project maintenance.
As part of the program, the speeches of Narendra Modi and N. Chandrababu Naidu addressing farmers were screened for the attendees.
District Library Chairman Donkada Ramakrishna, AMC Chairperson Kadraka Kalavathi, Special Officer Kalyan Chakravarthi, farmer leaders Devakoti Venkata Naidu and Gurana Sriram Murthy Naidu, along with officials, public representatives, and a large number of farmers, participated in the event.
