Trump Issues Strong Warning to Iran; Talks Fail, Naval Blockade in Strait of Hormuz

U.S. President Donald Trump once again made strong remarks against Iran. Following the failure of peace talks mediated by Pakistan, he stated that it does not matter to him whether Iran returns to negotiations or not. He made these comments while speaking to reporters at Joint Base Andrews after concluding his Florida visit.

Trump accused Iran of clearly expressing its interest in acquiring nuclear weapons during the discussions. “They want nuclear weapons, and they made that clear during the talks. However, Iran cannot be allowed to possess nuclear weapons,” he asserted firmly. He also remarked that whether a deal is reached or not, it would ultimately be a victory for the United States.

Meanwhile, high-level talks between U.S. and Iranian representatives were held over the weekend in Islamabad. The U.S. delegation was led by Vice President JD Vance. The discussions, which lasted nearly 21 hours, ended without any agreement. According to U.S. officials, Iran’s refusal to completely halt its nuclear program was the primary reason for the breakdown.

Following the failure of the talks, the U.S. announced a major decision. Trump declared a naval blockade on Iranian ships passing through the Strait of Hormuz. This move is likely to further escalate tensions between the two nations. The current temporary ceasefire is set to expire on April 22.
