Sudhakar Urges AP CM to Prioritize Wage Hike Over Free RTC Travel

Delhi : V. Sudhakar, National President of the Print & Electronic Media Reporters Association – India, has appealed to the Chief Minister of Andhra Pradesh Chandrababu Naidu  to reconsider the recent proposal of offering free RTC bus travel to People of Andhra Pradesh. In a message directed to the CM, Sudhakar emphasized the need for a more impactful and long-term solution to support these frontline employees.

“Hon’ble CM Sir, instead of offering free RTC bus travel, wouldn’t it be more beneficial to increase the wages of municipal workers? It would offer lasting support for their hard work,” Sudhakar said.

He noted that while free transportation is a welcome gesture, a wage hike would have a far more meaningful effect on the lives of municipal employees who continue to serve in challenging conditions. The statement comes at a time when discussions are underway regarding new welfare measures for sanitation and civic workers across the state.

Sudhakar’s comments have sparked discussions among employee unions and public policy observers, with many echoing the sentiment that sustainable economic support should take precedence over short-term relief measures.
