Indian Army to Hold Agniveer Recruitment Drive in Andaman & Nicobar Islands Next Month

Chennai : In a significant step towards decentralising military recruitment and empowering remote communities, the Indian Army will conduct a major Agniveer recruitment rally across the Andaman and Nicobar Islands in October. Aimed at bringing job opportunities closer to local youth, the initiative will reduce the need for aspirants to travel long distances to mainland centres, officials announced on Thursday.

Organised under the banner “Delhi Se Dweep”, the rally will be held in two phases:

  • Phase 1: Scheduled at Netaji Stadium, Sri Vijaya Puram from October 8 to 10, this leg will cater to candidates from North and Middle Andaman and South Andaman districts.

  • Phase 2: To be conducted at the Mini Sports Stadium in Campbell Bay on October 14 and 15, this phase will be exclusively for aspirants from the Nicobar district.

The drive is being coordinated by the Chennai Recruiting Office (Headquarters) and is part of the Army’s broader strategy to engage with youth in geographically isolated areas.

Only those candidates who were shortlisted through the online Common Entrance Examination (CEE) for the recruitment year 2025–26 are eligible to participate.

Recruitment will be conducted for a range of categories including:

  • Agniveer General Duty

  • Agniveer Office Assistant/Store Keeper Technical

  • Agniveer Technical

  • Agniveer Tradesman (Class 10 and 8 pass)

  • Sepoy (Pharmacy)

  • Soldier Technical Nursing Assistant/Nursing Assistant in Veterinary

  • Agniveer General Duty (Women) for the Corps of Military Police

The Army stressed that the entire recruitment process is automated, transparent, and merit-based, ensuring equal opportunity for all. Aspirants have been strongly cautioned against engaging with touts or middlemen, as no external agents are authorised or involved in the selection process.

Candidates must carry all necessary documents, including affidavits in the prescribed format, as detailed in the official rally notification available at www.joinindianarmy.nic.in.

Admit cards were issued in the last week of August, and applicants have been advised to check their registered email IDs and the official website regularly for reporting details.

For queries, candidates can contact the Chennai Recruiting Office (Headquarters) at 044-25674924, located in the Fort Saint George Complex.

This recruitment drive is expected to open new avenues for the youth of the Andaman and Nicobar Islands, especially those from remote and underserved areas, giving them a chance to serve the nation with pride and honour.
