Hyderabad : Popular Telugu YouTuber Ramana Nandana, popularly known through her channel Nanadu’s World, was detained by police at Rajiv Gandhi International Airport (RGIA) in Hyderabad on Monday in connection with an alleged UK job fraud case.
According to police, Nandana was detained after a Lookout Circular (LOC) was issued against her following the registration of a case in Andhra Pradesh. The RGIA police are expected to hand her over to the Ibrahimpatnam Police in NTR district for further investigation.
The case was registered at Ibrahimpatnam Police Station based on a complaint filed by Mamillapalli Sivakranthi Kumar, a UK resident.
The complainant alleged that he paid around ₹15 lakh in several instalments into bank accounts linked to Destiny Consultancy, which was allegedly associated with Nandana and her husband Jagarlamudi Madhukar. The money was reportedly paid with the promise of assistance in securing a UK visa extension, employment and a Certificate of Sponsorship (CoS).
According to the complaint, the promised services were not provided and a CoS document supplied to him was later found to be allegedly fraudulent. Despite repeated demands for a refund, only ₹2 lakh was reportedly returned.
The FIR names Jagarlamudi Madhukar as Accused No. 1, Rama Nandana as Accused No. 2 and Mohan Rao as Accused No. 3. Police have booked the accused on allegations relating to cheating and fraud. The LOC issued against the trio resulted in Nandana being detained when she arrived at RGIA.
Nandana Denies Allegations
Nandana has publicly denied the allegations through a video statement. She reportedly claimed that neither she nor her husband owns or operates the consultancy in question and alleged that their names were misused.
She further described the allegations as part of a targeted smear campaign arising from personal disputes. Nandana and her husband have also approached the High Court seeking to quash the FIR.
Police are continuing their investigation and are expected to examine the financial transactions, consultancy records and documents allegedly submitted in connection with the case.
Film Appearance
Apart from her popularity on YouTube, Ramana Nandana also appeared in a special cameo in Megastar Chiranjeevi’s film Mana Shankara Vara Prasad Garu, alongside Nayanthara. The film was released in January 2026.
Further developments are expected as police proceed with the investigation.
