AP : Sanitation Crisis Grips Parajapadu Tribal Colony in Parvathipuram Manyam

Andhrapradeh State – Parvathipuram Manyam District — Residents of the Parajapadu tribal colony in Jiyyammavalasa Mandal, located within the Kurupam Assembly Constituency, are grappling with serious health and hygiene issues due to poor sanitation and lack of basic civic amenities.

Stagnant sewage water, clogged drainage systems, and piles of uncollected garbage have made life extremely difficult for the local tribal population. Locals report that silt-filled canals and overflowing drains are allowing dirty water to seep onto roads and into residential areas.

These unsanitary conditions have led to a surge in mosquito breeding, causing frequent outbreaks of diseases like malaria and dengue. Flies and foul odors have become a part of daily life, adding to the misery of the residents.

Despite repeated complaints, no concrete action has been taken by local authorities so far. The residents are now urging officials to intervene immediately and take appropriate steps to clean the area, restore proper drainage systems, and prevent further spread of infectious diseases.

Locals fear that if timely measures are not taken, the situation could worsen further with the onset of seasonal rains.

“We are living in constant fear of illness. The children and elderly are the worst affected. We appeal to the authorities to visit our area and address these long-pending issues,” said one of the residents.

The community continues to wait for a prompt and effective response from the concerned departments.
