Heavy Rains Ravage Kurupam Constituency – MLA Toyaka Jagadishwari Visits Cyclone-Affected Areas

Parvathipuram Manyam District : The Montha Cyclone has wreaked havoc across Kurupam Constituency in Parvathipuram Manyam district, causing severe damage due to incessant rains. Roads and transportation have been disrupted, and both residents and farmers have suffered extensive losses. On Thursday, Government Whip and Kurupam MLA Smt. Toyaka Jagadishwari personally visited the cyclone-affected villages to assess the situation on the ground.

Overflowing Streams Disrupt Transport

In Jiyyamma Valasa Mandal, under the Dangabhadra Panchayat, the Vommigedda stream overflowed and flooded the Jiyyamma Valasa–Veeraghatta road, completely halting traffic. Bus services and vehicular movement came to a standstill. Residents, especially those with emergency medical needs and school-going children, faced severe hardship. After inspecting the situation, MLA Jagadishwari assured that she would bring the issue to the notice of the state government and ensure the construction of a permanent bridge at the earliest. She added that the Chief Minister had already responded positively to the proposal.

Relief Distributed to Cyclone Victims

At Dangabhadra village, the MLA interacted with the cyclone-affected families and distributed immediate relief materials. Each family received 20 kg of rice, vegetables, cooking oil, and a financial aid cheque of ₹3,000. She comforted the victims, assuring that the government would extend full support for their rehabilitation.

Crop Damage Assessment Ordered

MLA Jagadishwari also inspected farmlands where paddy, cotton, and maize crops were submerged due to the floods. She personally spoke with the farmers to understand their losses. Later, she directed MRO Vijayalakshmi, MPDO K. Dharmarao, and other officials to prepare and submit a detailed report on the crop damage to the government immediately. She assured the farmers that the government would provide necessary compensation and support without delay.

Leaders Accompany the MLA

Accompanying MLA Toyaka Jagadishwari during the visit were Araku Parliamentary TDP representative Donkada Ramakrishna, Jiyyamma Valasa TDP Mandal President Jogi Bhujang Rao, senior TDP leader Palla Rambabu, coalition leaders, party workers, and supporters.
