Free Eye Check-up Camp Held Under ‘Arrive Alive’ Program at Chegunta Police Station

Telangana- Chegunta/Toopran Division: As part of road accident prevention initiatives, a free eye check-up camp was organized at Chegunta Police Station in Medak district under the “Arrive Alive” program. District SP D.V. Srinivasa Rao attended the event as the chief guest.

Speaking on the occasion, the SP emphasized that strict adherence to traffic rules is essential to reduce road accidents. He pointed out that negligence, over-speeding, and drunk driving are the primary causes of accidents. He also noted that two-wheeler riders are more vulnerable, and many fatalities occur due to not wearing helmets.

He advised that both riders and pillion riders must wear ISI-certified helmets. Highlighting the seriousness of the issue, he stated that one person loses their life in a road accident every three minutes in the country, adding that each accident brings immense suffering to families.

The SP further warned that minors should not drive vehicles and driving without a license is a punishable offense. He stated that parents would also face action if minors are found violating rules. Car passengers must wear seat belts, and dangerous practices like over-speeding and wrong-side driving must be avoided.

Concluding his speech, he said accidents are not fate but the result of human negligence, urging everyone to follow traffic rules and protect their families.

The event was attended by Toopran DSP Narendra Goud, CIs Venkata Raja Goud and Sandeep Reddy, SIs, police staff, and local residents.
