Hyderabad: Serious allegations have surfaced against personnel at Attapur Police Station, where an Assistant Sub-Inspector (ASI) and a constable are alleged to have misbehaved with and physically assaulted an advocate who had gone to the police station in connection with station bail for his client.
According to the allegations, the advocate was at the police station to attend to the legal proceedings concerning his client when an altercation reportedly took place. It is further alleged that a woman advocate who was present at the police station was also subjected to physical assault during the incident.
The allegations have sparked concern among members of the legal community, with calls for the matter to be examined impartially and the facts to be established through a proper inquiry.
Advocates and others concerned are seeking immediate intervention by senior police officials and an independent investigation into the circumstances surrounding the incident. They have also demanded that appropriate action be taken against those responsible if the allegations are found to be true.
At this stage, the allegations remain subject to verification. A detailed inquiry, including examination of CCTV footage, statements of witnesses and other available evidence, would be necessary to establish what exactly occurred at the police station.
