CRPF 2 Signal Battalion Conducts Special Shramdaan Drive in Hyderabad’s Barkas

Hyderabad : As part of the nationwide cleanliness initiative carrying the message “One Day, One Hour, All Together”, the Central Reserve Police Force (CRPF) 2 Signal Battalion organised a special Shramdaan and sanitation drive in the Barkas area of Hyderabad on Thursday.

The initiative focused on promoting cleanliness, healthy surroundings and civic responsibility among the public. CRPF personnel and local residents actively participated in the sanitation activities, demonstrating that maintaining a clean environment is a shared social responsibility.

The Shramdaan was conducted from 8:00 am to 9:00 am under the supervision of Dharmendra Kumar Singh, Commandant, 2 Signal Battalion, CRPF. Sanitation activities were carried out at several locations, including Kendriya Vidyalaya Barkas, the CRPF premises and the Barkas Market area along the Srisailam Highway.

Around 200 CRPF personnel and local residents took part in the programme and worked together to clean the surrounding areas. GHMC personnel, Safai Mitras, the Principal of Kendriya Vidyalaya Barkas, teaching staff and non-teaching staff also joined the drive and extended their support.

Along with the cleanliness activities, awareness was created among residents about sanitation, civic responsibility, proper waste management and environmental protection. Organisers stressed that cleanliness should not be limited to individual homes but should extend to surrounding public spaces as well.

People were encouraged to avoid littering, dispose of waste responsibly and contribute towards protecting the environment. The coordinated participation of CRPF personnel, GHMC staff, school staff, Safai Mitras and local residents highlighted the importance of collective community action.

On the occasion, Safai Mitras, who play an important role in maintaining sanitation in the community, were also felicitated in recognition of their services.

Several officers of the CRPF 2 Signal Battalion participated in the programme, including Dharmendra Kumar Singh, Commandant; Uttam Banerjee, Second-in-Command; Roshan Kumar, Deputy Commandant; Mitesh Jain, Assistant Commandant; Yatendra Kumar Sharma, Assistant Commandant; Captain Singh, Assistant Commandant; Ramesh Naik, Assistant Commandant; Yedhu Krishnan V., Assistant Commandant; and Manoj Hari Krishnan, Assistant Commandant (Medical).

The Shramdaan programme reflected the collective commitment of the CRPF 2 Signal Battalion and local community towards cleanliness, environmental protection and civic responsibility.

The initiative conveyed a simple message: even dedicating one hour to keeping our surroundings clean can contribute to meaningful and positive change in society.
