Massive Fire Breaks Out in Delh .. No Casualties Reported

A major fire broke out in the national capital, Delhi, in the early hours of Wednesday, engulfing a cluster of temporary shelters near Udyog Bhavan in Central Delhi. Several shanties were reduced to ashes in the incident. Fortunately, no casualties were reported, bringing relief to both authorities and local residents.

According to officials, the fire initially started in an electrical panel around midnight on Tuesday. Within minutes, the flames spread rapidly to nearby temporary structures. The situation worsened when several LPG cylinders stored in the area exploded, causing the fire to intensify and spread further.

The affected settlement was reportedly inhabited by workers engaged in the Central Vista project. Alert residents managed to evacuate in time, preventing any loss of life despite the severity of the blaze.

Upon receiving information, personnel from the Delhi Fire Service (DFS) rushed to the spot and launched firefighting operations. Considering the magnitude of the incident, authorities classified it as a “Make-4” category fire. More than 20 fire tenders and water bowsers were deployed to bring the flames under control.

After several hours of continuous efforts, firefighters successfully contained the blaze by around 5:30 a.m. on Wednesday. While several huts and household belongings were destroyed, officials confirmed that no injuries or fatalities were reported.

Authorities have launched an investigation into the exact cause of the fire. Although a short circuit in the electrical system is suspected to be the reason, officials said the actual cause will be determined after a detailed inquiry.
