Prakasam District, Addanki: Tension prevailed near Addanki after a car allegedly carrying two police sub-inspectors collided with an auto-rickshaw, leaving four passengers injured. The incident took a serious turn after locals allegedly noticed what they suspected to be ganja and liquor bottles in the car’s boot.
According to local sources, the car was travelling from Ballikurava towards Addanki when it collided with an auto. Four passengers travelling in the auto reportedly sustained serious injuries and were shifted to a hospital for treatment.
The car was reportedly occupied by Ballikurava SI Nagaraju and Santamaguluru SI Nagamalleswara Rao. Both officers were allegedly in civilian clothes at the time of the incident.
Following the accident, locals claimed that they noticed suspected ganja and liquor bottles inside the car’s boot. They reportedly demanded that the vehicle be thoroughly inspected.
The situation became tense when locals alleged that they were being prevented from checking the vehicle. Addanki CI reached the spot and attempted to bring the situation under control. A heated argument reportedly broke out between the police and locals over opening and inspecting the car’s boot.
Locals also raised questions over the alleged removal of the two officers from the scene and demanded clarity regarding the contents of the vehicle.
The exact circumstances surrounding the accident, the contents of the vehicle and the allegations regarding ganja and liquor are yet to be officially established.
