Andhrapradesh , Tirupati District, Pakala Mandal :Aragonda Gangadharam, a BSF jawan from Surinenivarivalle hamlet of Upparapalli Gram Panchayat in Pakala Mandal of Tirupati District, is currently serving with the Border Security Force in Gujarat. He stated that land located in Survey No. 2222 of his native village has been under his family’s possession since his grandfather’s generation. He said that his family had been cultivating crops on the land and had also paid land taxes in the past.
Gangadharam said that his family members and relatives have been running from pillar to post at revenue offices for several years seeking a land patta, but no justice has been done so far. He added that the previous government had established a Jagananna Colony on the same land and that when they requested at least house sites, a portion of the land was left aside.
Recently, when he began construction of a house and laid the foundation on the said land, a local TDP leader allegedly demanded ₹2 lakh from him. When he refused to pay the amount, pressure was reportedly exerted on revenue officials the very next day, leading to the stoppage of the house construction.
He expressed anguish that despite approaching mandal- and district-level officials repeatedly, he has not received justice. He lamented that although he risks his life while serving the nation on the borders, he has been denied justice in his own village. He appealed to the Chief Minister and Deputy Chief Minister to intervene and ensure justice in his case.
