Medak District / Masaipet / Toopran Division : Gas-loaded trucks carrying Bharat Gas cylinders are reportedly halting every day near Masaipet Dhaba on the National Highway in Masaipet Mandal, while transporting cylinders from Hyderabad to Nizamabad. The parking of vehicles loaded with full LPG cylinders near roadside eateries has raised serious safety concerns among local residents.
It may be recalled that in the past, a tragic incident on the Vijayawada highway route, where gas cylinders exploded and buses caught fire, caused widespread alarm. Following that incident, both state governments issued strict orders prohibiting vehicles carrying fully loaded gas cylinders from parking near dhabas, hotels, or public gathering places.
However, locals allege that despite these clear government directives, gas-loaded trucks are still being parked carelessly near the Masaipet Dhaba. They fear that in the event of an accidental fire or explosion, it could result in massive loss of life and property.
Residents have urged the concerned authorities to take immediate action and strictly enforce safety regulations. They have called for regular inspections and preventive measures to ensure public safety along the National Highway.
