Telangana – Medak (Toopran Division) : District Superintendent of Police D.V. Srinivasa Rao stated that strict action is being taken against those involved in sexual offences against women and children. In a case registered at Toopran Police Station, the court found the आरोपी guilty and sentenced him to 20 years of rigorous imprisonment.
According to police, the accused, Somagari Bhaskar (27), a resident of Jandapalli village under Toopran police limits, was charged with sexually assaulting a minor girl. Based on the complaint, then Sub-Inspector Suresh Kumar registered the case.
Subsequently, the investigating officer, CI Sridhar, conducted a detailed investigation, collected strong evidence, and filed a chargesheet. After hearing the case, Judge R.M. Subhavalli convicted the accused and sentenced him to 20 years of rigorous imprisonment along with a fine of ₹1 lakh. The court also directed that the fine amount be paid to the victim as compensation.
Special Public Prosecutor M. Balayya and Bharosa Legal Officer Advocate K. Swetha played a key role in successfully prosecuting the case. Toopran SI Gangaraju, District Liaisoning Officer B. Vittal, and police staff coordinated effectively.
The SP assured that such cases will be investigated swiftly to ensure justice for victims. He emphasized that the safety of women and children remains a top priority and urged the public to cooperate with the police.
