P.C. Palli, Markapur District – Andhrapradesh : A government teacher, Venkata Ramanaiah, who is currently working at Vengalayapalli village in P.C. Palli Mandal, is being widely appreciated for his dedicated service to students, school development, yoga training and social welfare activities.
According to those supporting his nomination, Ramanaiah has spent nearly ₹20 lakh from his own funds for the development of schools where he worked. He also reportedly mobilised nearly ₹50 lakh through donors and used the funds to provide basic infrastructure and other facilities in schools.
With a strong focus on increasing student enrolment, he reportedly ensured that every school where he worked moved away from the situation of having a “No Admission” board.
Free Training for Navodaya and Sainik School Aspirants
Ramanaiah is said to spend time at school until around 8 p.m., providing free coaching to students preparing for Jawahar Navodaya Vidyalaya and Sainik School entrance examinations.
Through his efforts, nearly 30 students have reportedly secured seats in Navodaya and Sainik Schools.
He has also been providing yoga training to students. Around 100 students trained under him have reportedly won medals at the national, state and district levels in yoga competitions.
Ramanaiah himself has achieved around 50 medals at national, state and district-level yoga competitions. In June 2026, he won three medals at the Yogandhra competitions held in Vijayawada and received the medals from Health Minister Satyakumar Yadav.
Two Decades of Free Yoga Service
For nearly 20 years, Ramanaiah has reportedly been teaching yoga free of cost to students, employees and elders. His service extended beyond education and yoga, particularly during the COVID-19 pandemic.
During the pandemic, he and other yoga instructors reportedly mobilised around ₹10 lakh and distributed essential commodities for nearly a year across six mandals in the Kanigiri Assembly constituency.
Appeal for Fair Consideration
Supporters of the teacher state that a detailed file containing nearly 450 pages of documents and evidence of his work has been submitted to the Markapuram District Education Office.
They allege that although interviews were expected for six SGT teachers, Ramanaiah was not called for the interview and that interviews were not conducted at the district level. They further allege that his file was not forwarded to the state level.
They have appealed to the concerned authorities to examine the files of teachers recommended from Markapuram district in the SGT category along with Ramanaiah’s file.
They urged the authorities to assess his eligibility and service contributions in a transparent and impartial manner and, if found deserving, recommend Venkata Ramanaiah for the State Best Teacher Award and ensure that justice is done to his dedicated service.
