Hyderabad: BRS working president KT Rama Rao has launched a fierce attack on the Congress-led state government, accusing it of ignoring the suffering of the poor amidst the ongoing demolitions carried out by the HYDRA
In a pointed criticism, Rama Rao highlighted the preferential treatment given to Chief Minister A Revanth Reddy’s brother, A Tirupathi Reddy, who received a 30-day notice before his property was affected. This notice allowed him to seek court intervention and secure stay orders, raising questions about fairness in the government’s approach.
Rama Rao took to social media platform X to shed light on the distress faced by ordinary citizens due to the demolitions. He shared heart-wrenching stories, including that of Vedashree, an LKG student who was not even given the opportunity to gather her school books before her home was destroyed.
Additionally, he recounted the plight of Kasturi Bai, a 50-year-old woman who lost her only source of income—a small shoe shop—due to what he described as “heartless demolitions.” He noted that properties bought just 72 hours prior were demolished without regard for legal ownership, exacerbating the plight of those affected.
“Is this the kind of governance that prioritizes the welfare of its citizens?” Rama Rao questioned, emphasizing the need for the government to address the needs of the vulnerable rather than catering to the privileged. The BRS leader’s remarks have sparked discussions on the broader implications of the demolitions and the accountability of the government in safeguarding the rights of its residents.
