PM Modi praises Andhra CM Chandrababu Naidu for reforms

New Delhi, May 24: Prime Minister Narendra Modi on Saturday showered praise on Andhra Pradesh Chief Minister N. Chandrababu Naidu for his state’s impressive reforms and rapid growth at the 10th NITI Aayog Governing Council Meeting, an official press statement revealed. The Prime Minister suggested that other states across India should study and adopt the key reforms implemented in Andhra Pradesh as a blueprint for sustainable growth.

“All states should examine and study the reforms of Andhra Pradesh. There could be a lot of inputs in the blueprint for growth projected by CM Naidu for other states also,” PM Modi said, highlighting the state’s progressive strides under Naidu’s leadership.

During the meeting, the Chief Minister of Andhra Pradesh paid tribute to the victims of the Pahalgam terrorist attack on April 22, 2025, and also lauded the success of India’s Armed Forces in Operation Sindoor. He further expressed his admiration for PM Modi’s strong leadership throughout the crisis, praising India’s resilience and self-reliance.

CM Naidu also took the opportunity to commend PM Modi for his leadership in transforming India’s economy from the 10th largest in the world to the 4th largest. He credited the nation’s transformative reforms, such as Digital India, GST, Startup India, PM Gati Shakti, and the Jal Jeevan Mission, for reshaping India’s development trajectory.

“Having the right leader at the right time has been crucial in steering the nation toward its ambitious goals in the right direction,” CM Naidu remarked.

The central theme of the meeting, “Viksit Rajya for Viksit Bharat @2047,” focused on building a prosperous, inclusive, and future-ready India by its centenary. The discussions were centered on key priorities such as accelerating entrepreneurship, employment, skill development, and transforming Tier-2 and Tier-3 cities into thriving growth hubs.

An aide to CM Naidu shared that the meeting also delved into enhancing cooperative federalism, reviewing key outcomes, and reinforcing collective progress toward national development.

As part of his address, Chief Minister Naidu presented Andhra Pradesh’s Swarna Andhra @2047 vision, which targets Zero Poverty by 2029 through an innovative P4 model that unites government, private sector, and citizen efforts to uplift vulnerable families and drive economic growth.

In a forward-thinking move, CM Naidu proposed the formation of three focused sub-groups of states in collaboration with the Union Government and NITI Aayog to expedite progress toward the vision of Viksit Bharat @2047.

  • The first sub-group will focus on enhancing GDP growth by boosting investments, manufacturing, exports, and job creation. This will be supported by central Viability Gap Funding for Public-Private Partnership (PPP) projects.

  • The second sub-group will tackle population management, aiming to leverage India’s demographic advantage while preparing for future challenges such as an ageing population and low fertility rates.

  • The third sub-group will focus on technology-driven governance, employing emerging technologies like Artificial Intelligence, quantum computing, drones, and digital platforms to create a more efficient, citizen-centric administration.

This forward-thinking proposal received widespread attention, with many experts agreeing that such initiatives could accelerate India’s progress toward its ambitious goals for 2047, as outlined by PM Modi’s vision for a Viksit Bharat.

With the conclusion of the meeting, it was clear that all states must work collectively, leveraging innovative ideas and best practices from across the nation, to ensure a prosperous future for India by its centenary.
