Anantapur District, Gooty: International Women’s Day was celebrated with great enthusiasm in Gooty town on Sunday. Marking the occasion, a bicycle rally was organized under the leadership of Urban Circle Inspector Rama Rao.
The rally commenced from the local police station and proceeded through Gandhi Circle to Srikrishnadevaraya Circle. Girl students from various educational institutions participated in the event, raising slogans promoting women’s dignity, equality, and safety.
Speaking on the occasion, CI Rama Rao said the program was organized to create awareness about women’s empowerment, security, and equal rights. He emphasized that women are the backbone of society and that protecting their rights is the responsibility of every individual. He also called upon the public to stand united against injustice and violence toward women.
Sub-Inspectors Suresh and Ameer Khan, ASI Manikyam, police personnel, school and college students, and members of the public actively took part in the rally, making the event a grand success.
