Annamayya District Collector Nishanth Kumar has taken a serious stance on the delay in Jaladhara–Jalaharathi works in Punganur mandal. He directed officials to complete all works under the 100-day action plan within the stipulated time without any negligence.
On Wednesday, the Collector conducted a surprise inspection at the MPDO office in the mandal headquarters. As part of his visit, he reviewed the progress of ongoing development works and closely examined the status of works taken up under the Jaladhara–Jalaharathi programme. He made it clear that delays would not be tolerated and instructed officials to speed up execution.
Later, the Collector visited Diguvapalli and Kakati panchayats, where he personally inspected ponds and water supply channels. During the visit, farmers brought several issues to his notice. They explained that water flow from the forest area to the ponds was being obstructed due to certain blockages and requested immediate action.
Responding positively, Collector Nishanth Kumar instructed officials to conduct field-level inspections and take necessary steps to remove the obstacles. He emphasized that all works should be completed efficiently and with quality to benefit farmers.
Tahsildar Parvathi, MPDO Leela Madhavi, Rural CI Sai Prasad, and other officials were present during the programme.
