Trump Issues Strong Warning to Iran; Talks Planned Amid Rising Tensions

U.S. President Donald Trump has once again issued a strong warning to Iran, stating that if it refuses to agree to a deal, the United States would destroy every power plant and bridge in the country. At the same time, he announced that a U.S. delegation will travel to Islamabad on April 20 for talks between the two nations.

In a post on Truth Social, Trump said, “We are proposing a very fair deal, and we hope they accept it. If not, the U.S. will take down Iran’s critical infrastructure. There will be no more nice behavior.” He added that the time has come to end Iran’s “killing machinery” and claimed he would accomplish what previous presidents could not.

Earlier talks held on April 11 in Islamabad under Pakistan’s mediation failed. While the U.S. demanded that Iran halt its nuclear program, Iran insisted on lifting sanctions and releasing its frozen assets.

Following the failed negotiations, tensions escalated in the Strait of Hormuz. The U.S. Navy imposed a blockade, to which Iran responded by closing the strait. Trump also accused Iran of violating the ceasefire and firing at vessels belonging to France and Britain.

He further stated that closing the Strait of Hormuz would cost Iran around $500 million per day. With tensions in West Asia at a peak, global attention is now focused on the upcoming talks.
